Terms and conditions

(Effective as of February 1, 2011)

Registration

Each new participant gets 250 registration bonus points upon joining Red Cross Racing and reporting that they donated or presented to donate whole blood, platelets or double red cells at a Red Cross blood drive or Red Cross donor center. If a newly registered member does not donate or present to donate at a Red Cross blood drive or Red Cross donor center, the 250 bonus points will not be eligible to be exchanged for rewards, including Best Buy Reward Zone points.

Only one (1) Red Cross Racing member account per person will be allowed. All participants must provide and maintain a valid email address and mailing address. In the event of a dispute regarding the identity of a participant submitting an electronic entry, entries will be determined to be made by the authorized account holder of the email address submitted at the time of entry. The “authorized account holder” is defined as the natural person who is assigned to an email address by an Internet Access provider, online service provider, or other organization (e.g. business, educational institution, etc.) responsible for assigning email addresses for the domain associated with the submitted email address. The Sponsor may require proof to its satisfaction of the entrant’s registered subscriber status. Automated entries (including but not limited to entries made using any script, macro, bot or sweepstakes service) and facsimiles are not allowed. Void where prohibited. By participating in this Promotion, entrants agree to be bound by these Official Rules.

The point structure for 2011 is as follows:

Red Cell (Whole Blood)
500 points per donation
Double Red Cell (Red Cell pts x2)
1,000 points per donation
Platelets
250 points per donation

Participants are not able to report donation activity in intervals less than a specific number of days between blood donations:

  • Blood (whole blood), every 56 days
  • Double Red Cells, every 112 days
  • Platelets, every 7 days, maximum 24 times in 12 months

Each procedure type has its own point value category based on the frequency you can perform each procedure. This program is designed so that no matter what procedure category you choose to donate in (whole blood, double red, platelets) points will accumulate fairly independent of procedure type you donate over the course of the program.

The Red Cross Racing program is designed so you get points based on each procedure and not the number of units/pints. Only one type of donation can be reported on any given date. As an example, during an automated donation points cannot be credited to an account for a platelet donation in addition to a whole blood donation given simultaneously.
