3M is proud to be associated with outstanding organizations such as the American Red Cross, NASCAR and Roush Fenway Racing. We are excited about the opportunity to combine these relationships in a program to benefit the good works of the Red Cross in providing a vital supply of blood for use in saving lives.
3M has supported the American Red Cross for many years with company and employee donation programs and on-site blood drives. To help the Red Cross achieve its 2008 blood drive goals, 3M is donating the paint scheme for two 2008 NASCAR Sprint Cup races on the No. 16 3M Ford Fusion driven by Greg Biffle for Roush Fenway Racing. The races are the April Talladega race, and the November Phoenix race.
The American Red Cross paint scheme will feature the Red Cross logo on the hood of the car as part of the dramatic red, white and black design. The Red Cross logo will also appear on the rear quarter panels of the No. 16 3M Ford Fusion at eight additional races in 2008. At the ten races where the Red Cross logo is on the No. 16 Ford Fusion, the Red Cross will have a mobile exhibit that will allow race fans to learn about the Red Cross mission, the new redcrossracing.com website, and the Red Cross Blood Donor Rewards program.
3M is proud of its long-standing official relationship with NASCAR as a Contingency Decal Program participant and to have many of its products designated as "Officially Licensed Products of NASCAR." Since 2005 3M has been a sponsor of Roush Fenway race teams in the Nationwide (formerly Busch) Series and the Sprint (formerly Nextel) Cup Series.
